With the limited rental car inventory, more people are successfully becoming Uber or Lyft drivers (and sometimes both). However, Uber inspections and Lyft inspections are a requirement for new drivers. You can’t go just anywhere to get one of these, but Oldsmar Automotive is a recommended location for either of these services inspections.
Lyft inspections are required before a driver is added to the service and annually thereafter. During the Lyft vehicle inspection, one of our licensed mechanics will check many essential elements on your vehicle. A few include:
- That all lights are functional
- Safety of the steering mechanisms
- Your braking system
- Exhaust system
- Integrity and operation of the windows & doors
- Seatbelt operation
- Tire tread depth
- Rearview and side mirrors
- Speedometer & horn operation
Basically, Lyft inspections are there to protect the safety of the passenger before they even get in the car.
Uber inspections are just as, if not, more detailed. There are 19 elements verified during the Uber vehicle inspection. Not only are the elements above verified but also that the car is less than ten years old and has four functional doors. Cracked windshields and low tire tread are two of the most common reasons for failing the inspection are. Have your insurance company fix your windshield before heading to the inspection center. Also replace your tires if you know they’re close to needing it.
