There are many reasons to get a vehicle inspection. Although Florida doesn’t require an annual inspection, it’s never a bad idea to have your trusted mechanic look over your car once a year or every 50,000 miles. Most mechanics include vehicle inspections with any full maintenance service. If you’re planning on driving for a rideshare app, you may be required to get one. And, if you’re buying a used car in a private party sale, you would be foolish not to get one prior to purchasing the car.
Why Are Vehicle Inspections Important?
Safety is the biggest reason. A licensed mechanic can verify that your car will keep you safe. A vehicle inspection may even prevent you from getting a ticket as some things your mechanic may find could be a ticketable offense (non-functioning brake lights for example). Liability is the last big reason. Insurance companies and attorneys will do all they can to place the blame on someone other than their client. If you were in the accident and hadn’t had a vehicle inspection in the past year, they may try to find a mechanical issue with your car and place some (or all of the blame) on you.
Types of Inspections We Offer
If you plan on starting to drive for Uber or Lyft, you may be required to get a car inspection. Car inspections are there to protect the passenger. However, they can also protect you from liability in the case you’re in an accident. Even if you’re not required to have one, getting one once a year has benefits.
Used car inspections are the second most common car inspections we perform. We want you to have the peace of mind that the vehicle you’re buying isn’t a flood salvaged car and doesn’t have major mechanical issues. We’ll inform you of any problems we see in the vehicle as well as a comprehensive quote to repair it. You may be able to use it as a negotiating tool if you decide you still want the car.
Fleet vehicles should be regularly inspected and maintained. This helps you as a business owner ensure that your business can keep operating. It can also reduce your liability in the event of an accident. Of course, we’ll inspect your vehicle too.
